Carabello Coffee
Finca El Puente Java Natural
Marysabel and Moises are a legendary power couple of the coffee industry. These Honduran coffee farmers are the best of the best and their coffees are highly sought after around the world. We were lucky enough to meet them by chance on a trip to Honduras in 2023.
Though buying coffee from Marysabel and Moises hadn’t been on our radar previously, these new friends offered Justin the opportunity to taste and purchase some. Ever since, we have been blessed with the opportunity to roast and share their coffees with our customers!
This Java variety found in Central America has an interesting history. Unsurprisingly, the variety’s origin story begins on the Indonesian Island of Java. In the early 1800s, the Dutch brought this coffee to Java from Ethiopia. Because this variety is resistant to coffee disease, it began traveling around the world to be cultivated. The variety landed in Central America in 1991 but wasn’t widely grown there until it was recognized that the variety thrived in the region’s higher altitudes.
