A Bittersweet Farewell to Jacoby Steele, After 10 Years with Carabello - 12/8/2021

Dear Friends,

Emily and I first met Jacoby Steele when he was still in high school and we were roasting at Velocity Bike & Bean in Florence, KY.  He would come by to chat about coffee and roasting, and along the way began to help us bag up coffee. That morphed into him helping us at farmers markets over the summer, and eventually he became our very first hire in 2013 when we opened our shop.

No one has made as deep an impression on the coffee and quality aspects of this business as this fine young man. He has been a driving force in our quest to deliver the best product we can day in and day out.

But much more significant than that, Jacoby’s character, integrity, compassionate heart and friendly disposition have been infused into every aspect of this business and relationship that he has touched. He is a God-fearing young man who loves fiercely and cares deeply for those around him.
Jacoby will be keenly missed by all of us and no doubt many of you. But what he has labored to establish here will now be built upon by others. Jacoby will leave a legacy behind that will enrich those who now put their hand to the plow he forged.

As the month unfolds, we will make time available for you and Jacoby to taste coffees together and for us all to offer a fitting send off. Stay tuned for that!

He has also sourced a Farewell Coffee for all of us to enjoy - the Limited Release La Inmaculada Box 62 - which released late last week.

Please join us in showering this young man with love and gratitude for sharing the past 10 years of his life with us.

Soon we will announce some special tastings Jacoby will be hosting of his Farewell Coffee at our Analog Bar.  We'd love for you to pop by and spend some time with him!

Blessings,

Justin
